Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
 
This is a pine panel that is about 9 inches wide by 4 inches high.  The sides are about 1 inch deep, so you could hang this on the wall or use it as a table top decoration.  I used my 60w woodburner to etch the words on the panel and on the sides are flower decorations.  This is one of my favorite verses and also one of my favorite and earliest pieces of art.  I love incorporating verses that inspire me into my art and these are a reminder to me about how I want to be encouraged by the Word and by the Lord in my life.  
 
I finished it with a water based natural wood stain and then a light coat of beeswax and orange oil finish which gives it a really nice sheen without losing the natural beauty of the wood beneath.  Even inexpensive woods can look amazing when you use techniques like this.  
 
We are West Hills Studio, and we live in Rural Oregon.  We both love a variety of art forms, ceramics, wood art, furniture, wood burning, and we like to including living things, like plants into our art as well.  
 
Jason primarily uses ceramics as his medium and I, Leslie, enjoy wood art of all forms, my absolute favorite is reclaimed wood.  Making something new from something old is my jam.
